One of the most popular things to do in Los Angeles is learn about the entertainment industry. A great way to do this is by taking a tour of a local studio where movies and television shows are made. The Warner Brothers Studio Tour Hollywood is one of the best. Here’s everything you need to know to visit WB!
About the Tour
The Warner Brothers Studio Tour takes visitors on a tour of the WB lot in Burbank. The lot is more than 100 acres and includes things like massive sound stages, offices, and back lot full of outdoor sets. From old Hollywood memorabilia and historical sites to current TV show sets and interactive experiences, there’s plenty to enjoy on this tour.
Some highlights include a Friends experience (with a replica of the Central Perk set, an actual Central Perk cafe serving food and drinks, and a Friends only gift shop), a ride around the back lot (where series and movies like Gilmore Girls, Pretty Little Liars, La La Land, and many others were filmed), and a Wizarding World exhibit (complete with a Cupboard Under the Stairs, interactive green screen experience, the Marauder’s Map, and other pieces from the films). You may also have the opportunity to walk through a TV show set for a current show – during our visit we walked through the set of All American.
Tickets and Hours
There are several different options for WB tours, including the Studio Tour, Studio Tour Plus, Classics Tour, and Deluxe Tour. Ticket prices vary depending on whether you’re a Southern California resident or not, if it’s a child or adult ticket, and which kind of tour you are taking. The prices tend to range from around $50 to around $300 per ticket. The length of the tour also depends on which ticket you’ve booked.
Studio tour hours also vary. Tours generally run daily, with the first tour departing between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM and the last leaving at 3:30 PM.
How to Get There
The WB Studio Tour is located at 3400 Warner Blvd, Burbank, CA 91505. If you arrive by car, there is a large parking structure available. The parking fee is $15. Other options for arriving at the lot are by bus (find a list of routes from LA Metro) and rideshare, such as Lyft or Uber.
Rules and Tips
-When you arrive at the lot, you’ll check in at the tour entrance. There you’ll need to provide identification and go through security. Note that children younger than five years old are not permitted on the tour, and those ages 5-17 must be with an adult.
-Food and drinks are available at a Starbucks at the tour entrance/welcome center, as well as the Central Perk. There are also water bottle refilling stations at the welcome center.
-Tours are given in English and Spanish. Tours can also be provided with ASL given 72 hours notice.
-For most of the tour, you are driven around on a cart by your tour guide. You then get off the cart at different points of interest. While you’re on the cart for a lot of the tour, there is a decent amount of walking involved. Many of the carts can accommodate wheelchairs if needed, but make sure to call in advance.
-There is not a dress code, but it’s a good idea to wear comfortable walking shoes.
-Service dogs are permitted on the tour. Pets are not. Call in advance if you are bringing a service dog.
-The studio tour follows local COVID-19 health and safety protocols as set by public health officials. Currently (as of June 2022), masks are recommended but not required indoors. Proof of vaccination is not required. These guidelines are subject to change, so check before your visit.
That’s all, folks! Enjoy your behind-the-scenes look at Hollywood. Cheers!
